Second Lap Rehoming

From champions on the track to champions of the sofa - we rehome with pride, care and respect for the sport that gave them their start

About

Our Story

Second Lap Rehoming was born out of a simple but powerful belief: every retired greyhound deserves a proud and loving retirement - one that honours their career and celebrates the dog they are today.

Founded in South Wales by lifelong greyhound enthusiasts, Second Lap Rehoming was created to build a positive, transparent bridge between the racing world and the homes these athletes deserve after retirement. We work with owners, trainers and tracks to ensure every dog gets the smoothest and most supportive second lap of their life.

Our very first rehomed greyhound was Pedro, a gentle black and white boy with a big heart and an even bigger tail. After a solid racing career, Pedro was ready for a slower pace. Watching Pedro bond with his family reminded us that this isn't just about rehoming -it's about recognising each greyhound has a unique personality, pace and perfect match.

At Second Lap, we don't believe in a one size fits all approach. Some greyhounds love quiet countryside strolls. Others thrive in busy homes with kids and chaos. Some are couch potatoes from day one; others need a few more yards before they slow down. Our job is to get to know each of our furry friends and help them find a family that fits.

We're proud to work with the racing community, not against it- and to tell the real story of the hounds: confident, loved and ready for their next chapter.

Whether you're looking to rehome, support or simply follow along. Welcome to Second Lap Rehoming. We're glad you're here.
